I’m turning choices, text and images into a branching story system.

Storybook joins a Player, a Creator and a JSON format. The designer supplies the story direction; the system connects the pages, choices and media. Neon Stairwell is the cyberpunk example in that world.
The Player accepted a JSON file or a browser draft and started at the story’s cover.
Each page could include text, media, and exits pointing to other pages.
The Creator supported page editing, validation, browser drafts, and JSON export.

The separate Neon Stairwell project includes 37 PNG files, including the cover, plus the story JSON and a page-stamping script. The images and branching-story data are part of the same creative workflow.
The files behind the project:

The next addition is a short path through the story, from JSON to page.
